It provides fans with endless characters, possibilities, storylines, and games.ĭid you know that fans have found a way to create their versions of some of the most classic games? These cames carry on the essence of main Pokémon games while taking paths that haven’t been explored by the franchise’s designers.īut that’s not all that Pokémon fans do with their gaming experience.

now from what the gen 4-5 games told me if I changed the 08 to FF (FF being the highest value it can be) I would only get a 1/257 shiny rate.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn Share on Pinterestįor over twenty years, has persisted as one of the largest, most well-known franchises in the gaming industry. It seemed like all the gen 4-5 games kept the same pattern of using the 08 28 01 D1 hex values for the shiny rates and at the time of me typing this I searched those hex values on an emerald gba file in my hex editor and I found the exact same line.

Hey, I'm a bit late (and I'm in a rush lol there's probably something I've missed now) but I wanted to change the shiny odds across all games from gen 1-5 just to play it for the experience and with all my research so far, I've managed to get all gen 4-5 games down to 1/32 (It can go as high as 1/1 and I spent a lot of time testing it and it came down to either 1/32 or 1/64, I ended up choosing 1/32 because you can only encounter so many pokemon and with rare spawns and soft resets, 1/32 just felt perfect while 1/64 being a bit too tedious) and same with fire red, emerald, and ruby but I only managed to do those with a tool called shin圜C (or something like like that, basically it did the work for me) but all of my work was done by extracting the arm9.bin file with crystaltile2 and hex editing the shiny odds code from there then compressing it back into the actual game file, (I'll see if I can add the link to the sources I used, everything was explained perfectly) the thing is I know the same thing could be done for gen 2-3 games, but I just can't find any info anywhere.
